Day 1 with the new bike…..
Hi everyone, and welcome to my new blog which will be used to share stories of my two wheeled adventures.
My bike experience has been focused on Scooters for the last few years, but today I took delivery of my new ride – a 2005 Suzuki VStrom 650.
It’s a great bike, it feels (and certainly is) bigger than my 250cc Derbi GP1-250….The sound of the 650 v-twin engine is awesome. It’s the same engine that Suzuki have in their SV650 and SV650s sportbikes.
While riding it this morning there were other things that I noticed too, like the the engine sound coming from below me instead of behind me, and I’ve been getting used to other things too…..like having to change gears (something I haven’t had to do for a few years!)
So this weekend I’ll be getting familiar with the VStrom, and then on Monday we have our first commute out on the highway to Grafton.
I’ll have more info on how that goes later in the week and I hope you all have a good weekend, and I’ll see you out there,
Cheers
Anthony.
WooHoo new bike!

Well done on the nice ride mate. I’ve probably come to a similar point to you, looking at getting onto a geared bike.
